They will also require meaty foods in the form of daphnia, brine shrimp or blood worms. Origin Africa; Lamprologus kungweensis are endemic to Lake Tanganyika. Sexing Males are slightly larger than the females. When the females are in breeding condition they will develop a yellow area on their abdomen. Breeding Females will dig pits in the substrate directly in front of shells. The actual spawning will take place in the shell and the female will guard the nest. Depending on the temperature in the tank, hatching can take up to 8-9 days and a few days later the fry will be free swimming.
