The male will protect the spawning site while the female tends the eggs in the cave. After 3 days the eggs should hatch and 3 days later the fry will be free swimming. They can be fed on newly hatched brine shrimp initially. Lifespan The expected life span for Thread-finned cichlids is 6-8 years.
